40th Birthday Party Photos

Hello Everyone!  I am just so excited!!  If you remember, I made some signs for a girlfriend who was throwing a 40th birthday party for a friend a little while ago.  Well, she sent me 2 photos of the items that I made for her.

The first photo is of the three flower signs that I made using the Sizzix Top Note die from Stampin' Up!  If you look at the 40 in the middle you can see that there is glitter on it.  I also glittered the small 40 in the "Fabulously 40" sign.

The second photo is of the flower signs and the cupcake flags.  There were 5 of the "40" cupcake flags.  They were also glittered in black.  I used My Digital Studio to make the 3 flower signs as well as the 5 cupcake flags.

For the cupcake flags I used the Sizzix Movers & Shapers Curly Label die and the SU!  Curly Label Extra Large Punch.

Hope you enjoyed checking out the photos.  I know I sure did!  It's great to actually see  the stuff I made for others actually being used.  There are so many times when I make something but then never get to see it in action.  Thanks Connie for sending me the photos.  Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time!

$ Box Class

Learn how to make gift boxes that dispense money as the gift. Make 3 different boxes: female birthday, male birthday & congratulations. All ages. 5:30-7:30pm. $20, all supplies included, must pre-reg. The Stamp Shack, 472 Southbury Lane. (530)899-7126.

Photos are of a $ Box made back in 2009 with retired stamp set.  We will be using current SU! products at the class.  RSVP by Thursday, March 17th @9pm.

In this box I used 10 - $1 bills.  The birthday girl who received it was wearing the money like a scarf as she pulled the money out of it.

This next box was made out of an invitation that my boys received for a birthday party.  The boy really likes the Giants so I thought it would be great to see if I could use the invitation on the box.  This gift was the hit of the birthday party.
Now a days, when my boys ask their friends what they want for a birthday gift, the usually very loud answer is "A MONEY BOX!"
My youngest boy was even asked by his best friends little sister if he would come to her birhtday party because she wanted a money box for her birthday.

Rest assured, she will be receiving one in April.  Although my youngest boy will not be attending her all girl sleep over birthday party, I have already made one for her mom to give to her.

Join me for this class.  It will be a lot of fun!

03-05-2011 40th Birthday Party

A very good friend of mine, Connie (Hi Connie!) is hosting a 40th Birthday Party for one of her friends.  She asked me if I would be willing to make 5 cupcake flags and 3 signs to place in flower arrangements.  She requested light pink and a hot pink, with black glitter.  If you look real close at the photo you will see that all of the 40's are glittered.  I ended up using My Digital Studio to print out the flags and signs.

My Digital Studio is your paper crafting solution.  You can use it to make scrapbook pages, cards, calendars, notebooks, flyers, etc.  Just about anything you want.  You can print them out on your home printer or have Stampin' Up! print them and have them delivered to your doorstep.

Contact me to find out more about My Digital Studio.  I would love to show you my copy of it.  Come on over, let's play!!

Stamp-A-Stack Success

February 2011 Stamp-A-Stack

Yes, I do declare the February 2011 Stamp-A-Stack Card Making Class a Success!!!  "Why?" you ask.  Well, just take a gander at this little card!  Isn't it adorable.  I so wish I could take credit for the design but I have to give credit where it is due.  I was surfing a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator only web site (click here to find out how you can get access to the site) when I came across some little leprechauns made by Joni Seith back in 2010.  Her leprechauns were so stinking cute that I just had to see if I could make one as well.

By Joni Seith

I modified the idea a bit to suit my likings.
As it turns out it took a total of 20 punches to make out guy.  Now think 20 punches X 3 cards...that makes for a LOT of punching.
The gals that attended the SAS had a great idea as well.  They felt we should have made the "beer" in the mug green and I think we should have put a mug in each hand.  Especially because we live in Chico where California State University, Chico is located.  Back in the early '90's Chico State was named the #1 Party Town in the Country by Playboy Magazine.  (That was a couple of years before I started Chico State.)

Recipe:
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Garden Green, Tangerine Tango, Vellum
Ink: Garden Green, Basic Black Marker, More Mustard marker
Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Every Little Bit
Punches:  Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Scallop Oval, Scallop Trim, Word Window, 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large, Extra Large Tag, Large Tag
Other:  Crop-A-Dile

February 2011 Stamp-A-Stack
Our second card was inspired by a wonderful Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Amy Higgins.  We participate in a monthly card swap between about 5 demonstrators.  I enjoyed her card so much that I had to honor her by trying to see what I could come up with.  I think it was the ribbon on her card that made me fall in love with it.  I used the Hostess Level 1 set called Silhouette Sentiments.  Want this stamp set?  Click here to find out how to get it.

Here is the inside of the card.  Isn't that little flower so cute all by it's self.  And now for the inspiration behind this card......................

by Amy Higgins
I just love the ribbon.   Amy's card took a whopping 31.5 inches of ribbon.  Mine only took 18 inches.  I would have loved to do the full bow, but I just didn't have enough ribbon on hand for it.  Just think 6 ladies times 3 cards each, plus the 2 I made would be a total of 630 inches of ribbon!!!

Recipe:
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight

Stamp Set:  Silhouette Sentiments

 Level 1 Hostess Set
Punches:  Decorative Label, Jewelry Tag Medium
Ribbon:  1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon Pumpkin Pie, Linen Thread
Other:  Stampin' Dimensionals

Our 3rd card was inspired by me!!!  I had just received a new Sizzix embossing folder, Square Lattice, and couldn't wait to use it.  So, here it is.

Ribbon:  1/8" Taffeta Early Espresso
Sizzix:  Big Shot, Square Lattice

The final card was inspired by Becky Bonita.  I wrote her name down but have not clue as to where I found it.  I receive the stamp Ornate Blossom for free with a Sale-A-Bration order of $50 in merchandise.  Want to get this stamp for free also?  Check this out!  For details on Sale-A-Bration.  I absolutely love the shading on this card!

Ink:  Blushing Bride, Concord Crush

Okay, one last photo to share with you.  During SAS I had to run off to get my kids from school.  As soon as the bell rang, it started snowing.  It was TOTAL PANDEMONIUM with all of the kids running out of their classes yelling "IT'S SNOWING!!"  You have to understand that snow is a big deal in Chico.  We are known for our hot weather.  I have lived here for 21 years and it has snowed a total of 4 times that I can recall.  My kids were so excited to see the "large" amount of snow in our back yard..........

Wow, so much snow...somehow the kids even managed to have a snow ball fight.

Well, thank for taking a look at everything.  Please feel free to leave a comment.  If you are interested in attending a Stamp-A-Stack Card Making Class it is held the last Friday of every month.  I open the doors at 10am and the latest you can show up to start the class is 7:30pm.  We make 12 cards, 3 each of 4 different designs.  Check out the Upcoming Classes/Events tab above to see when the class is scheduled.
