Missing In Action

Hi All ~  Sorry I haven't posted in quite a while.  I found out on October 29th that I was going to have shoulder surgery on November 2nd.  I am still recovering but am finally able to type with little pain so I thought I had better jump on my blog and let you know why I have been MIA. 

My 1-1/2 hour surgery to remove a calcium deposit turned in to a 3 hour rotator cuff surgery.  I will now be in a sling for a month instead of 2 weeks.  Yikes!

Wedding Invitations & Wedding Ensembles

I have finished 4 weddings and am now waiting to meet my next bride for a "Rock Star" wedding in 2011.  I find the weddings so exciting to do.  If you need help designing or are looking for someone to make your invitations for you, I'm your person.  Contact me today to get started.

I started in October of 2009 when I met with a bride who was planning her wedding for May 8, 2010.  I designed and made her Wedding Invitations (95), RSVP Cards (95), Insert Cards (95), Escort Cards (130), Table Signs (18), Programs (80), Bar Menu (1), Specialty Drink Menu (1), Appetizer Menu (1) and Buffet Menu (1).

My next bride I met in February 2010, her wedding was April 25, 2010.  I helped to design and make her Wedding Invitations (35) and RSVP Cards (35).  I made Reserved Table Signs (3), Children's Table (1) as well as "Mr." and "Mrs." signs for them to have their pictures taken with after the ceremony.

I met my third bride at my son's baseball practice in April 2010.  Her wedding was on June 27, 2010.  She was visiting from Canada and was there visiting one of her bridesmaid and to watch her God Son at the practice.  She had just sent out her wedding invitations but had no idea as to what to do for her escort cards and table signs.  The wedding had a travel theme because the groom works as a news reporter and travels all over the world.  They also had guests from all over the world attending.  I ended up making her Escort Cards (137) and Table Signs (18).  Her bridesmaid traveled from Chico, California to Toronto, Canada with them as her "carry-on" luggage!!

I just met my fourth bride at the end of May 2010.  Her wedding was September 18, 2010.  I made made Invitations (35), RSVP Cards (35), Insert Cards (35), Escort Cards (50), Thank You Cards (50), Boutonniere Tags (50), Buffet Table Signs (4), Individual Dish signs (20), Favor Tags (50), Drink Menu (1) and Bar Menu (1).  You can see some photos of this wedding in posts labeled 09-18-2010 Wedding.

4 wedding in under 1 year!  How exciting!!!

It Happened Again!

When I hold a Stamp-A-Stack I love to see what everyone does with the card designs.  Basically everyone kept this card the same except for the little bats.  Most everyone ended up stamping the bats in a random pattern.  Its pretty interesting because whenever I have a mom and daughter combo at SAS the moms keep the card exactly like my sample and the daughters change it completely.

So once again here is a card that was fun to make.  It is a spinning card.  If you look real close you can see where the Word Window punch was used behind each of the images.  When you tilt the card side to side the images spin back an forth.  It was so fun to see how every ones eyes lit up when they first saw the card and what it does.  Contact me for directions!

When making this card it is important to stamp the tree image first, then make the moon/sun using the circle punch.  After making the moon/sun use a mask over it and make the sky.  After making the card I decided it was missing something.  Once I added the Crochet Trim it just seemed to work!  I love how peaceful this card is.

Stamp-A-Stack August 2010

Hi All!  I am so excited that I started my blog in September.  It has been so much fun working on it and learning everything I need to know about blogging.  My blog design is coming along slowly but I am getting there.  So please check in regularly to watch my blog evolve.

This card reminds me of the hydrangeas that were between our house and the neighbors when I was a little girl.  I remember that they were blue and that there were 4 beautiful bushes. Once, on May Day, I picked some of them, made a little cone basket from construction paper and hung them on my neighbors door.  I then rang the door bell and ran like crazy.  I thought that my neighbor would just LOVE the flowers that I had picked for her.  It didn't hit me until later in the day that I had picked HER flowers...

This third card didn't originally have the ribbon on it.  One of my ladies said "This would be so cute with some ribbon on it.", so I grabbed some ribbon, handed it to her and she added it to her cards.  She was most definitely right!  So I asked her to add the ribbon to my sample and VIOLA!  I have to say a BIG "Thank You, Kika!"

Back From The Wedding

Hey everyone!  Here are some photos from today's wedding.  I had a blast setting up for it.  Okay, how long do you think it would take to tie 50 bows on the back of chairs?  Any idea...Try 3 hours.  Yes, it took me that long to tie 50 bows!  You can see some of them in the photos below.  The first photo is an up close photo of the flower tag that I made.  Every single guest had a flower on their plate with the tag.  The second photo is of the completed table.  Third photo is of the table showing the bows.  Fourth photo shows the escort cards (airplanes) and the final photo is an upclose of a flower by the escort cards.  I didn't get to stay for the ceremony or the reception so I wasn't able to get photos of the buffet signs or the favor table.  I'll have to wait to get them from the photographer.  Hope you enjoyed the photos.  Please feel free to leave a comment!  ~ Sharon

Wedding Today!

Today is the day of the big event.  I will be headed out to help set up for the wedding and will actually see my stuff in use for once.  Here are a couple of photos of the items to be used at todays wedding.  I'll post more photos after the wedding tonight (if not too tired) or tomorrow.  You may be able to see some colored stones sitting infront of the signs.  Those are the colors of the wedding.  Isn't it just wonderful how Stampin' Up!'s colors match them perfectly!?!  Gotta love SU!  Enjoy!  ~ Sharon

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!!!

Yes folks, that's right I'm a winner.  "Winner of what?" you ask.  "A free stamp set from Stampin' Up!"  Can't wait to use this set at my October & November Stamp-A-Stack Card Making Classes.  "What is a Stamp-A-Stack?" you ask.  Well, I'm glad you asked...

On the last Friday of the month I hold a Stamp-A-Stack Card Making Class.  While at the class you make 12 cards, 3 each of 4 designs for $20.  You can show up anytime between 10am & 8pm to start the class.  My next SAS will be Friday, September 24th.  At the September SAS we will be making Halloween and Thanksgiving/Fall cards.  In October, November and December the SAS Class will be held early in the month due to the holidays.  The dates are October 22nd, November 19th and December 17th.  In October & November we will be making Christmas cards and in December we will be making Thank You cards.  Please RSVP the day before the Stamp-A-Stack Card Making Class.  Click here for my complete Calendar Of Events!  Hope to see you here!

Woohoo! My 1st Post!!
